Fruits of Care: A Users Guide to Family Caregiving
There are only four kinds of people in the world——Rosalynn Carter
Those who have been caregivers,
those who are currently caregivers,
those who will be caregivers,
those who need caregivers.
Perspective. Folks sometimes see me pointing to family caregiving challenges as if there is nothing “we” collectively need to do. 🤔 It is such a misunderstood subject in scope, yet we are slowly moving from the category of individual family issue to a recognized phenomenon. Finally. We have ALL been, and will continue to be, touched by healthcare consequences that do not serve the needs of all concerned. All. Most just don’t see. My own stance has been the old scout motto “be prepared!” with self-care that recognizes the adage to put your own oxygen mask on first as a line we can draw in the slippery sand when the cost of care moves out of scope. THIS is a choice that requires finding your voice, and demands resilience with caregivers awakening to themselves. aka! Peepers are open for my new project, co-authored Fruits of Care: A Users Guide to Family Caregiving. We discuss the nitty gritty.
